Gumboots, mullets and forest green: What the people of Fieldays wore
With gloomy weather shadowing the event, attendees came prepared for downpours, mud and wind.
While you’d expect the crowd to be packed with Red Bands and Swandris, this year’s Fieldays had much more of a smart casual vibe going on.
No matter where you were at the Southern Hemisphere’s largest agriculture event, there was always someone in a checkered shirt, tucked into blue jeans, paired with a smart dress boot.
Extra points if also wearing a company-branded vest. Prime Minister Christopher Luxon even got in on the Fieldays uniform.

Outside of that there were a good amount of mullets, stubby shorts with gumboots, and a lot of camouflage.
Some even travelled to the event to buy new clothes.
If Fieldays had a signature colour, it would be a dark, forest green. There were fleeces, rain jackets, hunting shirts, Swandris, and boots all in this colour.
