First look at the lineup for this year's Rhythm and Vines

A Cleveland rapper will headline and a Baltimore band bring punk to the Gisborne event for the first time.

Grammy winning rapper Kid Cudi will headline this year's Rhythm and Vines festival.

And for the first time a hardcore punk act has been added to the New Year's bill, with Baltimore-formed Turnstile coming to the grounds of Tairāwhiti/Gisborne for the annual event.

Also announced on Tuesday for the 23rd take of R&V are rapper 070 Shake, Electronic producer Marc Rebillet, UK electronic duo Maribou State as well as the return of Kiwis L.A.B and English drum and bass producer, Wilkinson.

The first release of 48 acts is just the start of the setlist, with festival expecting to finish with close to 100 performers over the four-day event at Waiohika Estate.

The East Coast event opens up to campers from 28 December, with the festival officially kicking off on 29 December, through to the first sunrise on 1 January.
